Grief counselling
Are you struggling with overwhelming emotions?
Grief is profoundly personal, and it can feel like your world has shifted in ways that you’re unsure how to navigate. Many people experiencing loss feel exhausted, lost, confused, deep sadness and a range of complex emotions. These emotions are completely natural responses to grief, but they can feel all-consuming. If you're feeling disconnected, isolated, or unsure of how to move forward, grief counselling can provide support and understanding to help you cope with your grief.
How grief counselling can help you
In grief counselling, we won’t be seeking to “fix” or erase your grief; instead, we focus on helping you understand it. We’ll work together to explore your unique experience of loss, uncovering ways to process the pain and eventually find a path forward. Through counselling, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of grief and discover coping tools tailored to help you manage each stage of your journey. The goal is for you to reach a place where you feel more grounded, connected, and equipped to carry your grief with you in a way that brings peace.
Finding connection, hope and calm in your grief
As we work together, you may find a renewed connection with yourself and others, an inner calm, and a sense of hope as you navigate life after loss. The grief will still be there, but with support, it becomes something you can manage rather than something that overwhelms you.
You don’t have to do this alone
Grief can often feel like a solitary experience, and it’s natural to wonder if anyone else understands. In counselling, you have a dedicated, safe space to share what you’re going through without fear of judgment. Together, we’ll honour your loss, explore what it means to you, and help you find a way forward. If you’re ready to take this step, know that I’m here to walk with you.
Bereavement, diagnosis of a life limiting illness, end of life, anticipatory grief
Many people experience anticipatory grief when diagnosed with a life-limiting illness or terminal illness, or a loved one has been. Uncertainty and concerns for the future may be overwhelming and lead to anxiety. Counselling will help you navigate your emotions in relation to your diagnosis (or that of a loved one). As an End of Life Doula and a Grief Counsellor, I'm able to hold space for difficult conversations and walk alongside you as you navigate this challenging time. If you are caring for someone with a life-limiting illness, you also deserve space to explore your own experience and receive valuable support.
How many sessions will I need?
Some of my clients have experience profound shifts in their ability to cope with their grief after only one session. Some people prefer to engage in grief counselling on a regular basis, to support them in their new life following loss and ensure they continue to feel grounded and empowered in their grief. There is no pressure to come to grief counselling – you will choose whether you would prefer to book in as required or have weekly, fortnightly or monthly sessions.
How much will grief counselling cost?
My fee is $100 AUD for a 60 minute session.
Can we please chat before I book in?
